"I first saw the brochure for Stephen's Pet Pawtriture when he dropped it by my office and I immediately thought about having him photograph my cats. Stephen came to my home, set up his lighting and other equipment and, by the time he was finished doing that, my cats were already curious about him and practically did the work for him, posing and lounging on the backdrop Stephen laid out. Stephen made my cats seemingly comfortable and enough at ease for him to take several beautiful photos of them, which I had printed onto canvas and a set of greeting cards. "I wasn't all that familiar with Stephen's work outside of portfolio photos he had taken of my friend. When she told me he was doing pet photography, I didn't think much of it until I saw the photographs Stephen did of her cats. She's really into her cats....they're like family to her so it was really cool to see how Stephen photographed them in ways that seemed totally natural for them to be. Stephen caught an amazing shot of one of her cats, looking straight into the camera, and, with just a little editing, he turned it into something that was more than just a photograph of a cat. It's really amazing. Stephen is super calm and chill and it seems like the animals know it and react accordingly, which yields great results. It almost makes me with I had a pet for him to photograph but then I'd be breaking the terms of my lease! Looking at Stephen's pet photos is a close enough second for now."

Over the past six years, I have had the pleasure of three photo shoots with Stephen Orsillo.




Right away I felt comfortable and at ease in the environment - his ability to allow the person being photographed to be themselves is a rare and wonderful talent.
As a result his photos showcase a real person, looking his or her best.
